Easy Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings Recipe
- 2 Granny Smith apples, large; peeled and cored
- 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls, 10 ounce
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup Mountain Dew
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cut each apple into wedges and set aside.
- Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles.
- Roll 1 or more apple wedges in crescent roll dough starting at the smallest end.
- Pinch to seal and place in the baking dish.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan and stir in the sugar and cinnamon.
- Pour over the apple dumplings.
- Pour Mountain Dew over the dumplings.
- Bake for about 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden brown.

- Roll a piece of cheddar cheese, or sprinkle shredded cheese on the apple slice before wrapping it in the crescent roll.
- Try making pear dumplings–substitute pear slices for the apples. Use semi firm pears. You can add cheese to pear dumplings too.
- When serving your apple dumplings hot, sprinkle shredded cheese over them.
- Add a pat of cream cheese with the apple slice before rolling it in the crescent roll.
